Flower Food Coloring In Water
The stem of a carnation.
Flower food coloring in water. Usually the food coloring experiment is done on cut flowers where the root system is. Add at least one carnation to each glass of colored water. Leave the flowers in the water for 24 hours.
Each cup should be a different color. Then put about 10 15 drops of food coloring in the water and stir around a bit. Add water to each cup.
Fill each cup with water half way. Add 3 drops of food coloring into each of the cups. To start you will want to trim down the stems of the flower so they fit your cups or glasses.
Liquid food coloring in a variety of colors. You will probably not see the food coloring as the water rises through the stems and leaves since they are dark green and the food coloring will be obscured. When the water gets to the white flowers however you will see color suffuse the flower creating a pink light blue or light green bloom.
